Tips for agents who work on the run

Working from a structured office, a standard 9-5, with an hour lunch break and a chat at the water cooler probably sounds like the most bizarre thing in the world for a busy real estate agent. In fact, the chances are, you are probably reading this from your smartphone, whilst finishing up an inspection, or on your way back to your car after a vendor meeting. So we will make this quick.

If you are working outside the office, use these tips to help you:

1. Ensure your content connects: it is essential that all of your apps across platform sync. There is nothing worse than having an email on a device, and not being able to retrieve it when you switch. One suggestion we have is to integrate through google. Using google docs, and gmail will ensure everything is integrated and it will not be restricted by the device you use.

2. Micromanage your time: It is all to easy to let a coffee run over for fifteen minutes, you won't notice it immediately, but if this builds up, it can put pressure on your calendar for the whole day. Ex leading real estate & now Head of Sales for and specialist auctioneer, Rocky Bartolotto mentions "It is essential to be structured with your time, once the calendar falls apart, it is almost impossible to get in front, scheduling in fifteen minute breaks for your own coffee, and clustering appointments in similar locations are both helpful to time management" 

3. Remember, it's about presentation: When on the go, it is very easy to get flustered and have your important documents all over the place. Simply organising your documents in your briefcase the night before, as well as having them stacked in order of use can be a great way to manage your workload effectively. 

4. Think digital: Whilst we mentioned earlier about having your content connecting, it is also a good idea to think about items that can be converted to digital platforms. Items such as contracts can now be stored entirely online with tools like DocuSign and can save huge amounts of time and increase organisation.
